The Sail Division now has a Twitter account. My hope is that we will be able to use Twitter to communicate with members when some urgency is required, and when email may not get through in time. For example, sailing cancellations are almost always fairly short notice.
Twitter does have a bad name, which is why I personally haven’t used it before. But, now, having tried it out a little, it is in fact simpler and easier than email, and could be helpful on occasions. Emails, the Blog and the Website will continue unchanged, so if you don’t want to do anything, you don’t need to.
The aim is to help sailors avoid turning up at Lakeside, when sailing has been cancelled.
